When researching an item, one, of course, endeavors to establish a competitive pricing structure—a price that is equitable to both buyer and seller. I was discomfited to discover that a major national discount office supply store is selling a single Nu-kote B86HY Black Correctable, High-Yield, Film Ribbon for $4.71 (non-inclusive of local and state sales taxes). I found so-called Internet deep discount office supply outlets pricing a single ribbon anywhere from $2.29 to $9.61, but adding as much as $9.95 for shipping and handling. Upon a review of 14 reputable office supply centers, I determined an average per ribbon price of $5.96 (including shipping & handling charges).

Why are we offering the Nu-kote B86HY Black Correctable, High-Yield, Film Ribbon at almost 50% below the retail price? The answer is quite simple. We purchased a quantity of 48 ribbons (packaged as six (6) individually boxed ribbons per master box) for a dot matrix printer that ceased to function shortly after the ribbons were acquired.
